Roof not working

Hi There
Hopefully someone can shed some light on this, I had the roof down today driving into town and put it up when I parked but when I came back out the roof would not work, I get no lights when I push the down or up buttons. When I got home I manually lowered the roof during which the roof down button flashed as I used the allen key unlatch the roof, but again once the roof was put back up the lights on the buttons do nothing and I can not use the roof. All was working perfectly this morning, my thinking is a sensor/switch has gone somewhere as the unlatching motor does not even start nor do the windows go down, anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong and expected cost for fixing? It is a 2005 model. Also shelf in the boot is in the down position so that is not part of the problem

Although the shelf in the boot is down, it triggers a switch. Mine broke a few years back and the roof did nothing whatsoever when the button was pressed. No windows, no unlatching, nothing!

There's a metal tag that the shelf depresses as you lower it. With the shelf up the switch tag is visible and can be triggered by pressing it in.

Might be worth a check.
