After fitting rear shocks (which involves removing the rear parcel shelf) I noticed that my roof would not retract, and the indicator panel showed a solid amber (or orange) light. As this indicates an issue with the microswitch, I checked and confirmed that the microswitch arm had bent.
Whilst waiting for a new one to be delivered, I didn't want to miss any possible roof-down time, so fitted a temporary bypass. This involved some fiddly adjustments to get the cable connector out, then separating the purple connectors before fitting the bypass. Note that if you do this, it is your own responsibility for ensuring the parcel shelf is always in the down position - mine is usually down anyway.
