Roof not opening

Hi, i had a flood in the boot over christmas that took out my parking sensor module and also flooded the roof module. I replaced the parking sensor module but only dried out the roof module which isn't working. The roof warning light is on the dash which pings when you start the car and the open and close function in front of the gear stick do not work (also the boot seems to only slam shut rather than soft close when you shut it).I have just scanned it and the fault code is below. Is there anyone near Birmingham that could help me sort this please? Spent what seems a fortune last year on the engine and now have another issue which I cant get resolved. Any help would be really appreciated.

Certainly looks that way, im just having trouble getting someone to replace it or get a second hand one. If I have a new one I've been told it has to be programmed in and again cant find anyone local to do it

Doesn’t need coding to car but you do need to get the correct software version for your age of car

I’ve bought several from eBay and they are plug and play

Use the search function on here to determine which modules you can use plus realoem will show you modules that are interchangeable

I will give this a try, really appreciate your support on this..so as long as it fits a 2011 model I should be fine? No extra programming?

Not in my experience

Worst you can do is buy one, try it and return it if it isn’t correct

I will take a look later and see about ordering one.....is it normal for a Z4 to drive you mad? Had nothing but trouble with this one....but love driving it..

also the boot seems to only slam shut rather than soft close when you shut it
How are you closing it? You need to gently lower it until it rests on the catch and then press down on it and then the soft close should pull it down.

These are the modules realoem says are cross compatible with yours

Put these in eBay to see what options you haveIMG_3587.png

Will do, I have asked them to confirm it will fit mine...and they say 30 day returns

Summary:
  • The SoftClose functionality to lock the trunk lid is managed by the CTM
  • Generally, each version will work on E89 hydraulic pumps with 4-solenoids (i.e.with a tiny reduction of it's functionality below 6.50.00) without coding
  • Your current CTM has a software version 6.30.00. This is the highest version to manage E89 hydraulic pumps with "only" 3-solenoids
  • Each equal or lower version can be taken pnp, without any coding
  • Software versions above need a downgrade of the software, also new CTM's from stock
  • The missing 4th solenoids can be simulated by a resisor to be added on two pins of the green connector on the harness at the CTM

Hiya, thanks for the response but tbh I am not that technical when it comes to these things so need something I can plug in and hopefully it wil just work. I have just been offered a deal on this unit.....does anyone know if this one will work? It says its compatible.with my car
