Hi guys,
I have a 53 plate Z4 with a slight problem that's nagging at the back of my mind! When I put the roof down, it goes all the way down - apart from the "clicking" which the roof does when it clips into place securely. A light gentle push clicks it into place and secures it - but I can't help but feel this could be a pre-cursor to larger problems.
I have inspected the roof whilst it's down half way, and the cause of it, is a crease in the roof as it goes down, now if i put my fingers underneath the crease and pop it upwards, the roof then closes and clicks into place - until the next day or a few hours of having the roof back up. I've inspected both sides and can't see a difference - except for what looks like a "black rope", that my guess, houses electrical wires and this seems looser i.e. more give on one side to the other, I've thought about taping the wire in line with the curve of the roof - thus stopping, the crease in the roof from happening.
Does that sound viable, has anyone else experienced this problem? Is it a pre-cursor of s**t to come?
Thanks for reading,
T
