Roof noise

:x hello, I’ve had my Z4 for about 18 months, and it has 22000 kms
Unfortunatelly, i’ve started to notice this rackling sound above my had on the hood, at low speeds, each time the car goes into bumps or on irregular roads.
Anyone else ahs got this problem? Thank you

I’ve not heard of this problem. My G29 roof seem OK.

If it's under warranty, let BMW service department sort it out. If not under warrant, bring along a passenger to help you to isolate the location. Press on various locations observing if the noise stops. From experience, determining the location by ear can be challenging because the apparent direction/location of the sound can be misleading.

I had a similar problem which, after much investigation, was fixed by lowering the roof and pushing down the rollbar. The creaking was actually coming from the rollbar and not the roof.

I am leaving it there on wednesday.
Anyway, i figured out.
When its cold, like 10°C, it a terrible squeeking and rackling just above my head, and after a few kms, after getting sun and warmer, the noise stops
