Roof - nearly shuts

Hi,
After a few weeks in storage with the battery disconnected the roof has acquired an annoying fault.

It opens perfectly but doesn't quite shut.

It doesn't seem to be transitioning from the hydraulic motor phase to the clamp motor phase.

This only happens if the roof is fully open.

If I open the roof and stop the cycle half way then close it again everything is fine. I can get it to work all the way until the roof is fully packed away in the boot then it doesn't finish the closing cycle.

When it fails, if I wait a few seconds then try to close it again it works fine. If I cycle the ignition again it works fine.

Any ideas please??

Forgot to say the battery is new and fully charged.

It's out of sync. remove the access panel at the front and wind the clamp mech all the way with a 4mm allen key to reset it.

Mike,
Did that........ no change.

The hydraulic motor stops with about 3 inches left to travel before the roof touches the screen. I can ease it down and then close the catches manually.

What I don't understand is why it works if the roof is only partially open. Can the hydraulic motor "run out of steam" before the roof reaches the windscreen? What tells the motor to stop when the roof reaches the screen?

I can see how the motor would have to work harder to close rather than open the roof. Can it be running out of fluid?

Thanks.

It could possibly be one of the Hall sensor positions telling the roof to stop, thinking its further up than it is.
We'll have it all out and have a look next weekend Steve.

Thanks Mr Number5,
I wasn't sure my messages to you were getting through. Please let me know details when you can.
