Roof Motor

Hi all,

New to this forum as I've just bought myself a beautiful 2008 Z4.

Unfortunately after getting home with it I realised the roof opens but doesn't close. I don't think it sits correctly when fully opened and then when I press close I can hear the motor trying, but nothing happens.

I found the motor has been relocated to the boot and has substantial oil in but it looks like the wires connected to it are not the factory standard. The seller has actually left a sensor in the boot in its original bag so was obviously thinking this could be the problem but if the sensor was gone I Don't think the roof would open or close?

If anyone has any suggestions or knows of a decent independent roof specialist in Bristol I could take it to I would really appreciate any responses. Thanks in advance!!

Adam

You're in luck! The UKs foremost roof sorter-outer is in Bristol.
Alan ([ref]Number5[/ref]. I'll give him a nudge for you.
The wiring may just be the conversion kit to the different sized connectors on the motor.
Pretty good bet the pump is on it's way out and cannot overcome gravity, but Alan should be able to sort all that easily.
