Roof Motor...yes another thread

If it is the rubber/plastic fittings in the end of the drain which cause the obstruction to form, can they not just be removed?

Loving the car thanks guys..................and the forum, now I've figured out the page numbering at the top right of the thread

Right, I spoke to BMW warranty today, and yes the roof motor is covered if the fault is electrical or mechanical, however we then got into a discussion about blocked drainage, and if the drain is blocked and the motor fails due to water it is not covered!!! but, the drainage system is part of the sevice schedule and should be checked, to which he agreed, he then said (I love this bit) "but if the drainage had become blocked since the service, it would not be covered" so then we got into a debate about how do I know they have checked them!! of course the answer was "its part of the service, so it will be checked!!" hmmm, nice grey area,,

I hasten to add I have the comprehensive warranty, I do not know if this applies to the other levels of cover.

Got the car back today. Hexagon out do themselves again. They gave the car a complete once over, spotted a minor leak in the reserve coolant tank (they had just replaced this...) and bushes were worn (probably not what I imagine) and so they replaced all the parts under warantee. The did not even ask, just got done. Car was cleaned inside and out and would have been dropped back if I had asked.

Highly recommend them for London servicing.

Will see if I notice the difference on the M3 tomorrow.
