Now I might be the last person to know this, but here goes.
Anyone having problems with the E85 roof motor would have to fork out a large sum for a replacement. Well, I thought I'd try to see there's another way and there is. The Mini 04-08 uses the same motor as the E85. The difference is that it doesn't sit in dirty water it's whole life, then rusts away and eventually fails. So, I bought a used, rust-free, working motor with pump for £30 from eBay. Just remove the bracket and pump and swap it over for what's left of your E85 motor and you're away!
