Roof motor resurrection - It's Alive!

I'm doing the roof motor relocation to the boot.
The motor has been sat in diesel overnight and I have sprayed it full of gt85 and it is looking much better with a freely spinning shaft.
I have put a 12v supply to it, it turned twice, very slowly and then stopped.
I haven't been able to put my multimeter to it to check the commutator as I didn't switch it off last time I used it, so that is also dead :headbang:
I'll check the comm later this evening.
Anyone got any advice/tips on how to resurrect the motor?

Yeh, you need to get the motor spinning a bit to make the brushes contact on the commutator. Knock it around a bit with 12v applied until it bursts into life, then it’s kind of self cleaning.

Its Alive! :D
Many thanks for the hammer technique, should have thought about this as when I was a young lad I used to give the starter motor in my spitfire 1300 a tap to get it going......but that was a long time ago and the memory aint so good nowadays!
