Hi,
My roof won't fold down. I suspect the motor has fallen foul of the common fault regarding the motor, drain holes and large volumes of water drowning the motor. I can easily fold it down and up by hand but would like to get it fixed. I've read ShipKillers guide etc. but I have no tools or real experience in doing that kind of operation.
Also, the operation to unblock the drain holes at the rear wheel arches would be doable, but since I don't have a jack or any stands, I'm reluctant to buy any just for this procedure. Does anyone know of any "non-dealer" mechanics who can do this sort of job without the extortionate expense? With that in mind, are there any owners in the Leeds / West Yorkshire area who have experience in doing this? I'm prepared to travel to get this sorted.
I would hope that the motor my not quite be done for yet, as the roof went down (just) in mid-may, so corrosion may not be too bad at the moment...if the drains could be unblocked, perhaps the motor and insulation could dry out and start working again...
Any thoughts or knowledge of any experienced hands would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Andy
