Roof motor relocation

Surely we buy these type of cars as we like driving, and I would have thought a scenic trip down to Cumbria would be quite appealing, even if it did mean an overnighter ? (It would to me!)
Dave £80 + B&B £70 = An enjoyable weekend & money well spent ?? :driving:

Combine it with one of the Borders runs maybe?

Any recommendations for someone near Surrey that can do the relocation?

I did PM bowser134 about a week ago, but not heard back yet. Not sure if that is a PM issue or he is otherwise not around.

I would try to give it go myself, but with the Photobucket changes, a lot of photos have disappeared from old threads. Did anyone save the old threads offline?

I replied to your email and not your PM sorry. Replied to the PM now :)

There is someone at Maidenbour near Crawley that did mine last year. I cannot remember his name but did post up about it at the time. Did a really good job for £60. I am sure you can find details on the various threads about this

Probably Marius. He's from around that area I think.

Actually a nice guy who know's his stuff. But he has a bad rep on here, for some reason.

I don’t think he helps himself reading some of the inflammatory posts I’ve seen

I posted a couple of links on the previous page. Not sure if they will help at all.

Yes I looked through those links.

Turns out that Ross had replied, but I had forgotten which email account I had linked to Z4-forum. Although I could do it I'm not a small chap at 6'6" and only just fit in a Z4 normally, so best I get someone who knows what they are doing.

Ross just did the job today in less than an hour. Glad I got someone to do it as I wouldn't have had the right tools to avoid damage.

Relieved on the timing as well. The insulation around the motor was dripping wet, although the motor seemed in pretty good condition. Ross is sending me the cover as he had ran out, at which point the mod will not be detectable.

Definitely recommended.

Durham Dave did my motor relocation a couple of days ago... not ideal timing as a lot of snow had fallen the previous day before :(
Dave and his son did a great job... I left them for 40 minutes while I went for a cup of tea at a nearby cafe and when I went back it was all done, with good news that the motor was looking pretty good. Extremely pleasant and helpful guys, would definitely recommend.

Defo worth getting one of the lads to do this . I was in a world of pain last week doing my own

For the money the guys charge , its a no brainer

The problem is that there's a whole detox programme in place to deal with the usual issues of anyone coming back from Engerluuuund that's enough to put anyone off visiting. You know, the usual stuff, fucking Cricket, Saxe-Coburg and Gotha worshipping, Jimmy Savile types, warm beer, fucking Cricket, Gary Lineker, Ant and Dec etc. Not worth risking it as the detox is quite intense. I've probably mentioned too much!

 Just pour yourself another whisky, put your Proclaimers album on and calm down.

Help me out here Number 5, I am looking to get this job done on my Z and, although I'm in Scotland, I'm a bit closer to Durham and up for the drive..possibly second week in April. I have no way of telling how old these posts are (using a phone and unsure of any settings on the site that can show when these posts are created.) Does Durham Dave still do these motor re-sites?

Yes he’s still doing them. I had mine done there not long ago.
