Roof motor relocation panel

So today, i had the pleasure of removing my roof, cleaning up the motor (getting it to work again) and then moved the motor into the boot.

It is sat in the little hole just under the parcel shelf on the left, i have read a few people have made a little compartment for the motor to sit behind just so its not knocked when filling the boot, but also to quieten down the motor noise too.

So my question is, does anyone sell or make the covers or compartments that the roof motor can go into?

From what I've seen from others it's simply a square panel covered in carpet that hides it away. I'll dig out the pics I've seen

thanks guys ..

suppose it won't be too much trouble trying to make something, i will take a trip to b&q at some point .. buy some kit and some insulation of some sort to try and keep it quiet, saying that, its not that loud anyway, its more to protect the motor from damage as the connectors on the bottom of the motor don't look too sturdy!

Bowser made a panel and covered it in the correct material for mine,so you hardly notice it. It also has velcro to keep it in place

thats amazing .. i will have to get in touch with him and see if he is willing to make anymore. is Bowser is full username?

I can either post you a panel or if you are in the North East you can call, assuming you are not sorted.

Myself and Smartbear are making the trip up to see Dave on Tuesday, does he supply the panel as part of the relocation ?

Stuart.

Thats why I struggle to buy carpet on ebay for my relocation jobs. Durham Dave is buying it all uip !

Dave does supply the panels for every relocation.
Anyone making their own just need to go to breakers and take rear side panel/boot floor carpet from a golf/polo/Passat cut shape and as said previously by forum member rub liquid black shoe polish over for good match.

I can vouch for that as a "forum member" who's done the shoe polish thing (it was "proper" parade gloss black, and use the shoe brush. I know, very old school.) :)
