Dave is still doing relocations based in Tow Law on the A68 near Durham. His telephone no.07864 860960 and traveling from Glasgow/Edinburgh takes about 2 hours. He charges £120 for relocation and can normally revive a dead motor.Serviceing is also available for e85/e89 and he has just changed front struts on my e23i.A lot of forum members have used him so far and been satisfied.

Thanks, thats good to know, mine is fine at the moment, but its probably just waiting to fail at the most inconveniant time!

Another endorsement from me.
Dave & son replaced mine 2 days after picking up the zed as this was near the top of the list of things to get done before I brought it back over to NL. Thankfully the motor was bone dry with no signs of water ingress. Obvs led a sheltered life.

Mr Cherrym himself came along to say hi and all in all it was a nice experience and a good preventive maintenance item to have done so professionally.
Was a beautiful trek over the Pennines to Durham and to my eternal shame I was a bit late getting there (sorry Dave!). Took the long way back over the epic rolling hills of the Yorkshire dales and past my old stomping ground Pendle Hill and on to Liverpool. Was hoping to go top down but sadly it was a bit grey and overcast that day.

Thanks again Dave!

Just did one this morning for another forum member.
Had obviously been looked at in the past and put back in its original location. The whole well was dry but the motor was seized solid.
Got a nice shiny one in the boot now.
The lid of the holder lifted straight off which seemed a bit suspicious, then the whole thing came out in about 2 minutes.
But it had obviously been done before with the roof off for access. The holder was free to float around in the bay, but the bowden cable had been tie-wrapped somewhere up near the front of the car! Why!
Why go through all that hassle and then put the motor back in the same place?
Especially as they'd gone to all the trouble of drilling a big drain hole in the bottom of the plastic casing. :headbang:

Ah well, be boring if they were all the same!

Fixing it is one thing, but thinking of relocating us a whole different way of thinking and even considering it is possible. Ask a BMW engineer and it will be just replaced in the same location as well.

The boot location (like it is in my Golf) is so much better. 30 years later still working perfectly

Just got back from Durham Dave’s. Revived my roof motor and got it going again. Top bloke and a cracking price  9601E83D-0B2C-4938-8604-D12576542B30.jpeg
