Roof motor red release in truck stuck

My hydraulic motor doesn't work for my roof, I like to put it up and down using my hands instead. When I try to pull the red tab in the truck it doesn't want to pull. Does anybody here know why. I can still put the hood up and down but using a lot of force to do so.

More than likely the valve block that actually allows the hydraulic fluid to bypass the pump has gotten corroded such that the little plunger bit that is normally operated by the cable is frozen in place. This can especially happen with water damaged motors. You really need to remove the roof to access it, but maybe if you spray WD-40 towards the right area some of it may accidentally find it's way to the correct part.
