Stuart, I'm thinking that the moments of maximum pressure are the initial lift from the screen, then the final pull down to lock. On the way up it's the lift to about halfway. Having recently fixed one with an internal ram leak I wouldn't expect the OP's to raise again, yet it seems the only issue is getting it started on the way down. Also, he says it closes really softly now, which implies it is holding more pressure?bigwinn said:I’m gravitating toward one of the rams having seal issues- assuming that you deffo don’t have any fluid loss at all…
If the same issue is there with two separate pump heads and motors I think it would be unlikely that the same problem persisted there

Yes, everything but the initial push works as expected. Even playing around with the top while it’s up works flawlessly.enuff_zed said:Stuart, I'm thinking that the moments of maximum pressure are the initial lift from the screen, then the final pull down to lock. [ref]Nocturnal[/ref], can you confirm that every other part of the operation is fine?
If so, are we then looking at perhaps the front claws not moving quite far enough?
Yes a light grease is all it should need.Nocturnal said:I’ve found out it appears to be the driver side hook that is getting stuck. Should I apply some sort of lubricant to the area?

Well I was going to say I used Vaseline, but thinking you weren't UK based I wasn't sure you'd know what I mean.Nocturnal said:enuff_zed said:Yes a light grease is all it should need.Nocturnal said:I’ve found out it appears to be the driver side hook that is getting stuck. Any particular grease you’d recommend? Or should I just head to my autopart store and ask for grease

I'm not going to ask why you need a huge tub. The LGBTQ++ police would be on my case.Nocturnal said:enuff_zed said:Well I was going to say I used Vaseline, but thinking you weren't UK based I wasn't sure you'd know what I mean.Nocturnal said:Any particular grease you’d recommend? Oh, I have a huge tub of Vaseline. Should I just take a huge swap and put it around the patch on the windshield side?

But a light smear on the hook and on the windshield plates should do it.
