I have been informed that a common problem with the Z4 roadster is the motor for the roof becoming immersed in water.
When told i thought id take a look, and uponopening the roof, i looked down the driver side and for sure there was a pool of water where the motor is, apperently there is a drain hole which beomes clogged by leafs and suh debris!
I got a metal BBQ skewer and had a poke around and found a hole which had become blocked! and with in miuntes it became unblocked!
So i hope this helps, i have a feeling i may have to check this on a reglar basis, i think a new motor could be very expensive and im told the labour is 4 hours just to remove the the roof!
