Roof motor prices

With prices that similar I'd get it from Sopers for the 2 year parts warranty.

But I'm guessing that the two year BMW warranty is worthless anyway as they don't cover water damage and I think I have seen threads where they reject such warranty claims even on fairly new cars, let alone parts.

The warranty may not cover water damage, and why should it? It would, however, certainly cover the motor and/or pump failing through normal operation under the Sale of Goods Act. That's how warranties work.

I've had a quote in the last two weeks from Soper's of £317 for the motor and £65 for the housing. My Zed is going into my local dealers Coopers of Teeside on Tuesday to have the motor replaced and they have agreed to match Soper's prices.

Getting more expensive then - with the forum discount in 2012 I seem to remember I paid £350 for both...

Why do you need the housing? Can't you just re-use the existing one?

That's exactly what my Indy recommended last July. Saved me nearly £60. They cleaned the existing housing and soundproofing and drilled a small hole in the bottom of the housing since they reckon water gets trapped in the housing.
