Just been quoted £820 by my local BMW indie. Now I do like to support local business where possible, but it's just hard to take when there's good guys on here advertising the same job for less than £600.

Anyone recommend a decent indie between Birmingham and Carlisle???
 
Did they replace any sound insulation or wiring for that price?

My local indie has said that the sound insulation needs replacing at the very least.
 
autotech gave me a decent quote for the job. where are you?

trenics in queensferry were the ones that quoted 1500-2000 (+vat)
 
Give Autotech a call,best later in the day and Peter will give you all the info.They were doing one a week when I was there.

I live just outside Blackpool, so Telford is just about within range.Had hoped for better from my local indie (Blackpool Motor Works) TBH. I think there's a thriving business opportunity here for someone in the NW.

Thanks for the offer, I'm happy to have a go at most jobs, but I think this one is probably bets left to teh professionals :thumbsup:

no worries, it really is an easy job to do just a bit of a ball ache. especially if its just a simple motor swap.
 
Came into a bit of spare money and had the motor replaced by Blackpool Motor Works (See what they've done there !), actually based in Lytham and were slightly more expensive than some of the offers available on here but are based in my home town. Managed to negotiate them down to £700, and I'm sure they could be knocked down to the £650 mark once they start to get some more inquiries.
