roof motor, new or old?

I have a 2003 z4, roof died

question is, which motor do i get? bmw say there is two, the older pre 2005 and the newer one, but they didnt know if i could use the newer one on my older car..

older : 54 34 7079586 (£785)
newer: 54 34 7193 448 (£259)

do I also need the sound insulation? 54 34 7119 635, (£55)

going to attempt this myself once all the parts are ordered etc.

not sure, but ring Joe@Soper, mention the forum and he should beat those prices.

unless that's their prices already.

Anyways, lets hope the the newer one works also.

Do a search on realoem.com that will tell you the parts numbers, but the newer one is so much cheaper I would hope that would fit.

yeh thats what i think it is... they call it sound insulation.

im gonna order these parts today, start on it wednesday hopefully.

better clean the garage out.

The prices i had first from my dealer were cheaper than Soper could offer..

So i will order from there.

my dealer: 259+55
Soper (inc forum discount): 274+59

yes just had a word with Joe (soper) £267 + £56.50 for housing.. this is for forum discounts, they dont stock them so will be special delivery (2 days) So may end up taking my roof off, investigating and then ordering if its the motor and keep the car in garage for 2 days!! hoping it dont rain on the 3rd day!! lol..

The prices on the above links are cheaper than that why not buy from them?

Also guys the £800 motor is now discontinued so yes the newer motor fits all!!
