Roof Motor Failure

Hi there:

Someone can give some advice re the roof motor failure? was told it was caused by the leaking water contaminated the motor. Need to replace hydraulic part. Parts cost £350, labour cost £360, plus £255 diagnosis fee! It is totally ripped off!!!

any advice would be much appreciated!

Parts and labour look about right... For an independent garage. However a £255 diagnostic charge is a complete rip-off. Looks like they have doubled up some labour charges as you have to remove the roof to confirm the motor is broken and do the diagnosis anyway. Unless you are talking about a main dealer price, in which case labour rates are almost double... In total it is a 6 hour job I believe.
