Roof Motor Cx, Non-Setting Silicone ?????

Hi All,

I have had the joy of finding that the roof motor on my Zed has died and having to auction off one of my T3sticl3s to have it repaired or going down the DIY route.

Decided to go down the DIY route, but on the various "How To's" I've seen, it mentions to use non-setting silicone on the seal ???

Has anyone done this, if so, which sort did you find best ???

Which DIY specified a 'non-setting' silicone? I have seen several DIY's and never seen this.

Unless you are talking about using silicone on the weather strip seal and not the motor housing.

Hi redzed what's your location did mine 4 weeks ago and have some
You can have .I only put a small amount on because there were still
Plenty in the seal .

Thanks both for the replies.

Funnily enough, I saw it on your excellent detailed write up shipkiller :D and yup, its on the seal and not motor housing.
It was only because of your awesome write up that I thought I'd attempt it.

Projoy - I'm located just off the A15 between Peterborough and Grantham, so quite a distance from Sheffield :(

I would say they mean silicone grease available from any good plumbers. Used for lubricating the moving parts on taps etc.
