Roof motor and roof top

So yesterday my roof motor gave up working. Suddenly started making strange noises and it barely manages to open and close the roof...

What are the chances of actually being able to repair the motor without buying a new one?

Also, what does it roughly cost to get this replaced at BMW?

On top of this my roof is slowly getting old. It has a lot of marks and I have already had a tiny whole above the window which I luckily managed to fix. Someone quoted me R21000 (+-2000 Pounds) to get and fix new roof. This seems a bit excessive.

I am actually starting to wonder if I should sell my Z4  . This is getting too expensive...

If you didn't want to spend silly money on a roof and motor, you could always stick a hardtop on semi-permanently for under a grand.....
