Roof maintainence....not the covering.

Had my car in for its first service today. Asked if there was any lubrication that is done to the roof during service. I was told no unless I had a problem. I just wondered if the hinges etc should be lubed as they are moving parts. If this should be done could someone show me with pictures if possible. Service was carried out at a BMW deealer. thanks.

I would think that a little lube on the moving parts would reduce friction and increase the longevity of the motor? I use a little silicone spray on the seals to protect them and a dab of lube on the hinged parts of the hood frame.
