Roof light flashing!

Hey,

Recently purchased another 2011 E89 23i M Sport, noticed that sometimes when I get into the car the open light is flashing.

Start the car up and as I drive it bongs at me once maybe twice, then goes away.

Roof goes up and down, although I have noticed it's a bit slow sometimes.

Looking at the battery it's the original one, looking at posts on here looks like a failing battery does do these kind of things to the roof, I've got a battery tester coming today as before I replace it I want to make sure, and I notice you have to register the new battery?

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

it is not worth waiting for replies, when you got a 9 year old battery

if you buy one with the same specs, no need to register, but worth doing

If the battery’s the same spec you don’t need to code it but you do need to register it, the car alters the charging algorithm for the new battery

Thanks guys, will change change the battery and see if that is the culprit!

Do you have to have the ISTA-D software to register? I'm guessing this can't be done with a OBD reader?
