Roof Hydraulic Hinges

Hello I'm hope someone can advise where I can get parts for my roof.
My roof has had a hinge failure and /or hydraulic leak behind the divers seat. I have found the part numbers which are BMW Part Numbers 54347193449(LH) 54347193450(RH), but I can't find anywhere in the uk that either have them new in stock or sell refurbished ones. Has anyone had this happen with their 2007 Z4? If so where did you get the hinges from or did you refurbish them yourself? I can find a company in the USA but that means weeks of waiting and not being able to use my car .

Are you certain it’s the hinge that’s failed?

Usually it’s the hydraulic lines that fail on entry to the rams as the metal rusts as a result of sitting in water

Lines are much cheaper and easier to replace than the rams

I'm not 100% sure it's the hinge, but there was a small pool of hydraulic fuild sat below the hinge. The noise it made when the failure happened was a gurgle when the roof was raised, this happen twice before it stopped working. Sorry if a silly question (I'm not very good at mechanics) but even if it is a line that has failed would it make sense to recondition the hinges? Also where would I get the Lines from?

You’ll only know really by either putting a camera down or getting it out to look at it.

Second hand pipes are fairly easy to source

it could be just the hydraulic lines. just check it before spending on rams.

depending where you are based and there's a lot of members can help you out

I agree with all the above.
Pipes are easy but you will need the motor moved to the boot first.

Thank you all for the advice. I have already had my motor moved into the boot, a member of this forum did it for me back in 2019. Good point about the camera I do know someone who has one I can use. (why didn't I think of that!) I had started to take the roof apart to get to the hinge which is when I found the hydraulic oil.
