Roof Help.

Hi All.

Firstly what a great source of knowledge this place is!

I have a 2007 Z4r and it has developed a roof fault, when I press the button to lower the roof the windows drop and the motor kicks in but the roof doesn't move! The same happens when I press the button to raise the roof!

I really hope the roof motor isn't knackered does anyone have any ideas what else it could be?

bowden cable in the boot?

open the boot and look for the red loop on the left, you might have accidentally caught it getting shopping out the boot or something, check its seated properly and try again
 
As above Roof motors have a high failure rate on these cars, but it is worth seaching the forum, as indicated above there are a few things you can try before you have to pay out loads of cash for a motor replacement... just search on roof motor etc.... loads of threads on this subject....
 
Thank you for your replies, I have inspected the Bowden Cable and it appears to be quite loose, could this be the issue?

I checked the drain holes a couple of weeks back an they appeared to be clear and you can hear the roof motor kicking in which gives me a small amount of hope!
