Roof Gaps at Rear

Hi All,

Ive done a quick search and i think its ok but going to double check to be safe.

I was hoovering around the lower part of the roof where it meets the fixed rear of the boot and noticed on side had more of a gap i could actually put my little finger down.... Started thinking theres nothing to stop water getting down there.

Is there a run off tray with drain holes underneath to get rid of any water?

Also notice 2 levers in the boot which raise a flap... im guessing to give more space in the boot when you know your not going to put the roof down?

Thanks for any help more so the gap problem.

Cheers

Oh dear -- very thing was covered in a thread about 3 days ago, so we get you on that one. The 'seal' is cosmetic only and perhaps keeps leaves out. The water goes straight past it and into the 2 side drains.

Correct on the 'tray'. It has a lock switch too to prevent lowering the hood when the tray is in the raised position

Yeah the one you mentioned about leaving the roof half open?

Well its better to be safe than sorry and getting confirmation was what i was after really. So Tar for that.

I love the Z4 but theres so many little design flaws i thought the boffins in Germany would have solved a little better.

That's it.

Actually I don't know if it's intended to be a seal or something to stop the canvas rubbing where it meets the bodywork. Whatever it's better than the old style press studs...
