roof flashing light

Hi folks,

So, I go to drop the hood with the key fob and the windows drop, the roof unlocks then it stops and the red light near the roof button flashes. My immediate thought is the roof motor has gone. I then started up the car, pressed the roof button and the roof drops as it normally does.

Any ideas what might be happening here, I've had a quick forum search but is there anything obvious I should be checking for?

Check you have the parcel shelf at the low position in the boot, as the roof can't fold down with the shelf up.

There is a small micro switch on the shelf so that when the shelf is up it holds out the motor circuit from driving the roof into the shelf.

Hope this helps (or even makes sense).
