Yes full wiring diagrams are much better when trying to understand a total system.

I have a roof opening problem too, the roof will stack the rear window on the roof but not open the boot, I'm not sure if the boot not opening is blocking the roof unlocking or the roof not unlocking at the windshield is blocking the boot opening. We can shut car off, pull key , lock car, unlock car, restart and the roof will let me reverse/close the roof back down and lock roof in rear so I can drive as a roadster. I have a little OBDII reader but it hadn't thrown any codes, BMW dealership replaced one of the microswitches on the right side/passenger side but that didn't fix. I think the wire bundle got out of the channel when a ziptie broke. We found one brown wire that was broken and resoldered in the right arm holding the rear window. After reading posts, maybe try replacing relays attached to pump? Open to any other suggestions, thanks

Correct!
Two of them have to be replaced. You can read its production date on the left as YYWW (year&week).
