Roof failure

I'm actually just replacing some hoses on one right now, and the hall sensors DO have a small locking tab on the connector, it needs to be pushed from the small hole on the back to release..

What does a hall sensor do?

...and how likely am I to have to know?

A hall sensor acts like a position detector, the roof mechanism only carries out its sequence after each separate motion has been detected/proven to have taken place. This enables the next stage to take place.
That’s my understanding of it anyhow :P

Well you could drop dead at the wheel, but i wouldn't have sleepless nights over it.

If you get the roof as far as stowing in the boot, the boot lid will eventually fall under gravity as the hydraulic pressure eases, but won't lock.
Just have to drive with it going bong.

And there is somewhere a video of a Ferrari with what looks like the same roof system as the Zed.
Now realise these folding roofs with hydraulic systems are fairly common, so why such high prices for spares.

:(

You are one sad bunny!

Either you wire up Hadron Colliders as a hobby, or you have too much spare time or you are grade A1 geek!

Well done!

That’s brilliant, all that’s left is to commission a small production run of the test plugs & loom and to design a testing app for iOS or android phones....
I’ll have one to get the ball rolling

My idea is to keep my first y-cable permanently connected in the car. Right now its plug can be touched from inside the car for any future tests, even when the roof doesn't work anymore.

If the roof malfunctions & won’t move, could you force feed the missing o/p or i/p to enable the roof to be stowed or raised?
That could be handy :)
