Roof drainage holes

Hi All,

Had a search on this but cant find much, sorry  ....

Is there something I can do to clean or to prevent the drainage holes near the roof motor from not working? Really dont want to be stuck with a new motor bill!

Thanks

Gawain

Does anyone have a copy of this thread as say a pdf as it essential knowledge
Unless your a coupe ...

Has anybody got an up to date version of this with images? Just went to the post mentioned here http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63033&highlight=top+drain and the images are dead links :(

Here's the youtube vid. I'm not convinced hoovering would have done much.

I jacked the car up, took the wheels off, remove cover panel, remove rubber bung and then used a pipe cleaner to 'rod it out'. I then tested it by running water onto the roof to make sure it flows through the drain hole.

The motor is on the passenger side so this is the most important one.

Try this http://docdro.id/SBYTr4R

I have uploaded it to this site. Failing that, i can try another method.

That's what it looks like with roof removed
I v v v rarely have mine in rain 3 times in 2.5 years hahah
But, I've still made sure mine clear

In front of rear wheels look up and you'll see a black tube
That's the drain tube

Now get a wire coat hanger
Cut it, bend it all straight
Get a load of warm soapy water and and with roof down and stopped about 2 inches from fully down
Pour warm water down into housing at the two ends

Watch and see if any pours out under rear wheels
If slow or not at all

Get said wire and gently push it down the gap behind motor and using above pic mentally note hole position and gently Pole round till find hole
Once do simply and gently push wire in and you'll see the water run free
Keep filling up with warm soapy water till runs clear and freely
Repeat other side
if badly blocked, from under car said wire can be pushed slowly and gently up the drain tube to free blockage

Hope helps

Not sure I'll be able to do the hood half way unless I quickly unplug the battery as I've got the Gaptech installed and that doesn't need the ignition to be on.

Easy buddy
Simply press the button on dash to stop the mechanism going all the way down :)
