Roof Drain Holes Again

So it has been a while :tumbleweed: , with hardly any driving during the previous year due to lockdown.

E90, though sitting idle managed to require two new door locks and a broken front coil spring.

Z4 decided it needed a driver side 3-4" indoor swimming pool. Noticed the pool in October and managed to pump and towel most of it out and clean out the drain hole but being cold and humid over winter, I really had very little chance of getting the car dry.

Now that the E90 (waiting for parts) and the Z4 are both off road, turned my attention to Z4, namely the new air bag lights.

which judging from the codes appear to be in relation to the Seat belt pretensioner.

Today I pulled out the driver seat and looked at the surprising about of water still remaining under the carpet, which I stuffed with towels and propped up to allow some air flow. Looking at moldy seatbelts, seat and electrical contacts.

God awful year

Feel for you really do,what a total pain..Another thing that let's water into your car is blocked vents on your Skuttle trey the piece of plastic that runs across below bottom of windscreen.Theyr are two drain openings with flaps on them.!!!If they get blocked with crap the water builds up and gets into electrics and passenger side floor soaking under carpets.Reccomend taking cover out and check or clean any leaves crap etc..

Thanks!

I allowed the footwell and underseat areas to dry out, cleaned the seats exterior with dish soap and milton (interior sponge will need more work). Now trying to sort out the following SBSR error,

0x224198DD 98DD Short circuit,firing circuit,belt tensioner,front right,to ground

For those pesky drain holes figured I’d link this. I did this mod last year and works like a charm. Theres thin flaky part of the membrane is getting down my drains so doesn’t matter if you’re outside or not as the top ages. Takes more time filling up the compressor than it takes back blowing the drains out.
