Hi All
My first post and as I am drawing my state pension this year be patient with me. Having read many many posts regarding this topic I thought I'd check mine. Everything clear on the drivers side but on the side where the motor is housed I'm struggling to get any water flowing through. Have removed cover on wheel arch, removed plug, used wire, electrical cable, hoover with plastic tube attached without out any success. Seem to hit a restriction near to the top. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi,

Hello and welcome

Have you tried the drain with the bung and plastic guard removed and up on axle stands? - I know when I checked and cleaned mine I it appeared very little water was coming out........But if you look along the sill cover it tends to travel along between the sill and cover and come out further long (Just behind the front wheel on mine).

Stu.

Welcome to the forum, Porthmog. Whereabouts in the country are you, perhaps a seasoned drain cleaner on the forum could give you a hand?

Personally, I use a compressor and piece of plastic tubing to ensure my drains are clean (as per Lillywhite's post above)

Superfast response and thanks for the welcome. Haven't noticed any water draining out further along the sill but I'll check again. Will have to arrange for my local Indy to give it a blast of air as suggested, thanks again. Based in Porthcawl

Once again, welcome.

Your Indy should know this, but it's worth mentioning that if the drain is clogged with debris and is holding water, a blast of air can blow water and debris all over the place. Best done with roof down and the entire interior covered except for the immediate area above the drain.
