Roof down - think i made myself ill!

Hi guys,

Drove from Wolverhampton to Newcastle with the roof down today. Bit chilly, but I seemed fine. Sun was glorious.

Beanie hat, heated seats, hoodie and jacket. But Damn I don't feel well tonight though...

Headache pangs, puking up....was thinking maybe it was the cold, even though I felt warm.

Ouch!
 
You were not alone. I also had 10 minutes roof down on Friday afternoon. When will summer come?
 
Who needs the summer. As long as it's not raining every day should be a roof down day. It's well worth the pain I reckon. One of the many reasons why the roadster is the far superior car to the tintop :poke:

+1 I was loving the roof down in the lakes this week - English weather is ideal for convertibles, summer can be too hot!

I couldn't agree more, I do love the look of a tintop, but it is lovely to be able to drop the roof at any time :D
And thats why I won't be buying a hardtop for my car! so also saved my about a grand or so!

Yeah,i wish the weather would pick up a bit too/at least get up to nearer 10c,rather than 5 or 6 below!!
Roll on the spring weather,lol :driving:
 
Yay, luv this thread.. like little hibernating creatures, out we come, hoods down .... even when the snow is still having a go !

Actually started snowing quite heavy here at the moment. :evil:

Beancounter1980, I remember being in the same situation a few years ago. Thought I was wrapped up well and drove around for an hour or so with the roof down during the afternoon and felt fine. Later that night I remember feeling very chilled and just "not right".

Keep drinking plenty of warm fluids and you'll be fine. :D

First time roof down today, only it a few weeks ago and couldn't wait to get the sun in the cockpit. Much easier to live with in winter sun than an MG too!
 
I had the roof down today also... registered 5 degree ouside.. but with 3 or 4 layers on and the heated seats it was all good!
 
Never made me feel ill with top down but long distance driving on motorways can make you feel tired having the top down as you get a battering from the wind have done 5 hours top down windows down and no deflector at high speed and felt a little tired compared to the same journey top up.
 
Mafoo, x2 - down should be the default position unless there is some kind of precipitation

As for making you ill...just a coincidence! Dont be put off!

Sounds more like food poisoning!

Think how bad you'd have felt if you'd not had all that wonderful fresh air :)

(Though, could also be carbon monoxide poisoning from exhaust gas emissions, perhaps overtake everybody next time so you're not breathing their fumes? S'my excuse officer.)
 
I had the roof down yesterday too .... was awesome! didn't even have the heated seats on! My hands were the coldest tho brrrr :driving:
 
Me too! Took the roof down first time in months! Felt fantastic but this morning I've got a bit of a cold! lol.
