roof down driving in winter?

Aberystwyth to aberdyfi then back to Telford with the top down yesterday. We did have heater on full and heated seats on 3 bars though 
All this roof down driving talk is making me sad! I do hope the weather is nice this weekend. I'd love to try the roof down on the Z4. It was down in the showroom handover garage when I picked it up and clearly left with it up as it was rather wet on Saturday but I want to have of down! Might even take a day off work just to cruise about

now i know in london im way more prone to jealous/jeremy kyle abuse than folk in the stick.
its just annoying, yes i drive a better nicer car than you, yes you are in a tin top or waliking! but dont call me a knob when im just enjoying the elements, music, and six cylinders!
i mean at hampstead high street lights today, i asked a guy in a c63 amg if he wanted to swap, (as friendly banter) he said no but id really love to take my roof off

I must admit I don't do this enough, but it's nice when I do!
Went out yesterday for lunch and had the top down there and all the way back. It was only 5.0 degrees but had my scarf on and sunnies. Heater set to about 24, directed at the feet/chest. Didn't have the seats turned on though. Was just nice and warm.
I get the top off as much as I possibly can. If it's bright then the hood is down. I know there are a lot of people that do the same.
Otherwise, what's the point, convertibles aren't for only using in the 'summer' months. It's over so quickly in the UK that we have to make the most of them

I don't understand why other drivers get so arsey about people who have their roof down.
firstly, are bikers exempt from being called all sorts? Secondly, cars have been fitted with heated seats and blowers that direct hot air to your face for longer than I've been alive. Lastly, whats the difference between driving with the roof down and walking?
I think most of it comes down to jealously. They'd like to do the same but can't because they either can't afford to (highly unlikely as you can buy z4's cheaply now) or they didn't have the bollocks to own something a little different/impractical, so went for a bore fest hatchback.
