roof does not completely lock down when retracting problem

Hi my Z4 has got a new problem which is when I open the roof it moves back fine but does not quite retract properly so the red light keeps flashing also most as if the cycle has not completed. It should stow properly but it looks like there is a problem with the locking mechanism. There is a latch than should lock but it doesn't. It's almost retracted but obviously as the red light is flashing it's not quite doing it.
Any ideas or suggestions how I can fix this problem please, many many thanks

First thing i would try is to lubricate all hinges and moving parts.

My roof does the same every ow and then, usually after its not been down for a while, winter etc..

I have to push it the last quarter of an inch into the lock position. Hot days like today after it had been down a few hours it locked into position on its own.
