Roof Coding challenge

I have read and believe to be true that it is possible to code the e85 to allow open/close of tye roof on the move at reasonable speeds without stopping to initiate the process. I n a sudden downpour stopping in traffic is much more dangerous than slowing.

I for one would be willing to pay usd 30 to 50 for a download and execute ncs coding file as I am sure would many others. This is beyond me but I am sure someone on here could make it so. Kind of thinking of a zip with all the tools and a bat file that does the work.

If this could be done it would be a cheaper price point than the hardware based solutions.

I've enabled this using carly.

Also enabled it to open and close the roof from the key

Some Germans figured out what needs changing in the coding files, instructions in English are about halfway down the Readme https://github.com/gobit0dic/CVM_IV

Applied it to a 2003 and 2005 and not had any issues, but all risk is yours, etc.
I will give it a shot. If I had the time I would package it and market it for 50 usd. That's cheaper than the hardware solutions. I don't really care about being able to open the roof from a distance and the one touch thing is nice but not essential. The thing I use most on my merc is the ability to open and close below 40kph and would love this on the z4. Even the z3 let's you do this providing you rest your foot on the brake.

I started this. Got all the tools installed and working then got completely lost. More research to do. The documentation in the link kindly provided is sparse for someone who knows not what they are doing with ncs. I suspect like brain surgery this is easy when you know how.

The stuff in the link and the German forum that links to are terse works for masochists. There's hundreds of guides on using ncs expert out there as it's been generic to 20 years worth of BMWs. They won't mention the roof module (few and far between) but probably talk about the body module or light module (LCM). The idea is the same tho, read the roof module, change the file extension, change the 3 parameters from the link and write it back.

Easy. I've been doing it for years so it only takes me about 3 attempts to code anything these days!

Well I would appreciate some advice. No matter what I do ncs expert cannot talk to the car. INPA works perfectly. Can read and clear errors, reset adaptions etc sp it's not coms or cable. Tried different versions of ncs expert. Mostly it cannot talk to the car to read the vin.

At least I think that is what it is saying. It says Vin is faulty.

I have used carly to code some options on the car.

Has anybody on here managed to code their roof? Burns me to spend lots of money on something the car can already do and e46 verts do as factory.
