Roof closes but doesn’t open. Trunk tray is down.

Hi,
I’m having a strange problem where the roof won’t open when pressing the button on the console, but if I open it manually it will close with no problems using the console button.
I’ve even removed the trunk/boot tray and got someone to press the switch just in case. There is no flashing light on the console like when the tray is up.
When pressing the open button nothing happens at all, the front latch motor does nothing.
The latch motor is working fine when closing.
I’ve even replaced the console roof/dtc/tyre button panel in case it was just a problem with the roof-down button but no joy.
So not sure what it could be. Are there any other sensors that could be faulty? I couldn’t see any looking at the BMW roof parts list.
If the loom going through the roof was damaged, I’d expect it to not work at all?
This is really frustrating so any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Tim

There are three fuses for the roof. It won't be the big fat 40A one as that powers the roof motor and that is obviously working.
Check the other two smaller ones.
There are also two blue relays up near the fuse box.
You could swap them over and see if it works the other way. (Slim chance tbh)

There is a possibility your loom or sensors at the top of the screen are on the way out- worth a look in those areas for anything obvious

Although this may sound nuts, try resetting your windows. Google windows reset e85
I had this issue too. The windows had lost their settings and the roof didn't know where they were. Easy check, do they drop a little when you open the doors?
But mine was down at the time and wouldn't go back up, so not sure this is your issue?
