I can't seem to find this - you couldn't put up a link here could you please?

I just realised today that the roof "open" button has started to flake :(

Thanks

I have ordered the roof up as mines flaking.. why the roof down isnt is a mystery as presumably they have had the same usage,do we have a how to to do the changeover, does the central console have to come out ?

Answered my own question.. looks like you just pull up on the central section.. then extract the switch strip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQA3VtDh9AA

it looks like i am going to break some clips

I'm hoping that I can just pull out the button with a bit of gentle persuasion...don't think taking the whole thing out would help much.

Roof down on remote then back up with button

Morning all,
As some of you know, I produce E89 specific videos on YouTube, so give me a couple of days and I'll put together a How-To for replacing these., after all you don't want to break anything!!
I'll start it this morning and have it sorted shortly, hopefully before you need it.

Thanks Dave, look forward to that.. just got an Email mine been posted so might be needing that HowTo soon .. Are you going to show how to get the actual button out of the strip as I am guessing theres a lot of scope for breakage there

Rich

Hi Rich,
Don't worry, every step is covered
Video is completed already, I'll upload it to YouTube tonight when I'm home. It'll be the fastest I've done a video, concept (in my head) to completion in less than 24 hours! 8)
I'll post a link once it's there :driving:

Makes sense but why can't I put the roof up with the remote?

Don't suppose you have produced a video that shows how to remove the centre console in order to repair the armrest hinge - looks like I have all the necessary parts but no means of reattaching them without taking everything out?

You need an aftermarket module like the smartop to enable that

OK thanks - is that also true if I want the automatic mirrors to fold when I lock the car without need of pressing the button manually?
