That is awful, and such a battle after that fall that changed his life. Such a nice chap, really into his military with his annual trips to Arnhem to the grave yards there.

Is his wife still alive? I remember him mentioning something about a hospice a while back.
 
Sad to read this. Never met him in person but had a few PM’s and online discussions over the years.

Lovely gentleman.
