Ronk update

Take your time and be patient. Your zed is tucked up safe and well and won't be coming out to play for a couple of months so there is no hurry.

Thank you for that explanation
I measure my Sats on my Apple Watch prior to this episode it would ago 97/100

It’s currently at 94% so I’m not out of the woods yet it seems
I’ve got a follow up X-ray and a GP meeting in a while.
During the day I’ve taken readings and after a jolly good coughing session they raised to 97% and sitting at 95 as a norm

The NHS app seems to indicate a fairly long recovery period. Here’s me thinking that I’ll be fine in a week or two!

It’s good that you can increase your sats to 97% by coughing - keeping going!

I suspect it’s not an overnight fix unfortunately- time and lifestyle they say - but I’m infinitely better than I was two weeks ago on my bed with a mask on 10l of oxygen 👍

Thanks for asking

It’ll take time but keep up the chest physio exercises (assuming you were given some) and exercise as able and I’m sure you’ll get back to full fitness.

I haven’t been given any exercises as yet- but i have being doing some deep breathing in, then a blow out thro the mouth.

If you have lots of tenacious secretions, percussion and postural drainage can help. Otherwise, they focus on ensuring you’re ventilating all of your lung volume through deep breathing exercises and exhaling through pursed lips. Blowing up a balloon can help reinflate collapsed areas of the lung, but don’t do that if you have a history of emphysema, lung bullae or pneumothorax.

Thank you - I’m getting there albeit slowly !
How is your health these days - i hope you are improving

Im glad to hear you are ok now!
You had a rough old time of it - four days in hospital was more than enough for me and enough to give me a warning shot that I needed.

Well listen to your body and accept it :D I’m only good for mornings now and devastated as I’m only 54 but that’s all I’m good for.

On the plus side I get charged OAP prices at the barbers as I haven’t aged well, 😂😂😂

[ref]ronk[/ref], as a frequent user of the forum I am mortified that this thread has passed me by! My sincerest apologies for not noticing it sooner.
I will echo all the sentiment and support the other good folk of the forum have sent your way already.
Take care and I hope the road to recovery is smooth and straight with no nasty potholes.
Best wishes, Martin

Please don’t let it worry you!
The road to recovery might be longer than I thought but I will plod on - one step at a time

Looking forward to springtime when the car is re taxed and I can get some trips out

Currently I am being more careful than normal as I don’t think even a mild dose of covid would do me any good!
