Well done Craig ! Glad you got it sorted and Wow!...it certainly was oily in there and that lower alternator bolt is a fiddly sod for sure :x Can't beat that feeling of fixing it yourself and saving money too. We've got three cars in our household that we've owned for 8 years in total and other than MOTs, tyre fitting, and 4 wheel alignment they've never been in a garage for service or repairs...not once ! I really enjoy getting my hands dirty and keeping my wallet in my pocket

Thought you would find a rock hard rubber gasket. Good for another 100k now.

Mine is still bone dry and I did it 6 years ago.

deffo agree on the self-servicing aspect. I paid £3300 for this car and it came with FSH (BMW and Indy mix) but I can’t warrant keeping that trend up. I’ll service it myself and keep the receipts and note the mileage. Which reminds me, I should get some photos of it up. It’s a month old
