Hi all, looking for some additional advice. 3.0 E89 Auto Msport.
Recently had a service and MOT, (passed with flying colours
) however, I had noticed a small oil burning smell and asked them to look into it as I assumed something was leaking onto the manifold or similar. Turns out this is exactly what it was.
The place is Indy BMW specialist and the chap recommended I get the rocker cover replaced rather than just the gasket as over time these plastic covers can warp and even if I replace the gasket, the leak could be back.
The car is now on 115000 so I could see how this may be the case, any experience on this is appreciated.
I am leaning towards getting the whole cover done as I was impressed with the guys there, they knew their stuff and it makes sense - just thought I'd throw it in here as you lot know a lot more than I do! :lol:
