Roadster side covers listed on ebay

WOW ! Back to the topic, Is there a way of getting a set of these in Black ? and don't say there's a set on Ebay

If so can someone provide a link please ?

Thanks

I have only managed to get a couple of sets in grey new from BMW unfortunately ....

I'm sure that the covers having been coloured from grey to black are fine.We don't worry to much when we have our wheels refurbed,as long as they look good we tend to be happy

I doubt it as the surface is a very soft flexible textured vinyl that I'm sure fairly soon will lead to cracking, crazing, pealing, etc. of the paint surface.
That's however not the point that they were sprayed and not original as from the factory.

If you have a spare set then I'd be glad to buy it and I'm sure I could get them painted. Let me know and I can also collect

Agreed, and I will be happy with my sprayed side covers that Srhutch is doing for me (assuming he gets his finger out  ).

However, just like with refurbed wheels, as a buyer I would want to know that they had been sprayed. The discussion was not about how good or bad they are, it is more about that you have to be honest on when you want to sell them.

If they were recoloured with correct paint they'll be fine.My point is we know they've been coloured its case of wether your bothered or not.

Sorry Z4MO, I abused a business contact I have in Germany to get me a couple of sets that Srhutch and myself wanted (the DHL shipment was probably more than the covers ... ). I would love to have helped you but when I don't dare to ask again ...

I've edited out the abusive language from this thread, but left all the posts so anyone viewing can see the tone and direction and perhaps be better informed about the ebay sale.

I've been called worse, after all it's a term of endearment in Scotland  , but thank you cj.

Same material as the dash. Don't see why painting will be an issue though. Not sue whether to try plastidip or acrylic matt though.

I'd see the same issues with a painted dash after a few months, but aside that the covers are flexible, taken on and off and put in storage back. I'd expect the surface to deteriorate quickly, but could see plastidip lasting longer

I'd be bothered - even though they're an item that's not subject to too much abuse in use, parts of it will rub and after time will start to crack / peel as cj says. Then eventually the whole lot will go. I guess if you prep them with some sort of undercoat suitable for painting on rubber they may last much better.

They were offered on here at £80 originally - that's only a little below what they were new, and mint unpainted black sets have sold for £60 on here, £70 max. They are rare, but with the knowledge I have I'd not pay more than Marius paid for these originally, which is £35. If he sells them for more then that's his gain... But not disclosing that they're 'modified' is dishonest. That is all.

Wow, I miss logging in this morning and Marius makes an apperance with his dodgy side covers and manages to upset everyone

I wonder if Marius aka Arfur Daley does them in other colours
