Roadster or Convertible?

so if 4 seats = convertible
where doers a cabriolet come in...

Soft top is a roadster without a shadow of a doubt. I like the coupe but when it comes to the summer and you can take the roof off you might as well have a 4 seater instead

No, my 3 Series isn't nearly as much of an event to drive as my E86.

OK, just to add to the buggeration factor, I thought a roadster was a long bonnet with the driver almost sat over the rear wheels. That makes the original Z4 (E85 and E86) a roadster. Not sure on later, lesser Z4’s

The long bonnet is there to place a silky smooth six pot under. Not much point without it. :evil: :wink:

The long bonnet is there to place a silky smooth six pot under. Not much point without it. :evil: :wink:

A mapped 4 pot fits into the smallish performance gap between the 3.0si and the z4m, i rest my case

Should’ve gone to specsavers Holmes, look at the pic again & you can see the driver is just as close to the rear wheels as he is in the older cars :wink:

Yup, assuming the pic is correct then the bum to axle dimension hasn't changed.

Traditionally a Roadster was a sporty 2 seater car with no weather protection.
Take for example my TR6 ..Triumph Roadster 6 generation....
...that has weather protection....
thats my theory out the widow then
