Roadster being held hostage!

The weather has finally turned nice and I can't drive my car!

When I put it into storage for the winter last October I was 1 car length away from the door. I should explain that the storage facility I used stacks the cars in really tight and I always try put it away as late as possible to be close to the door. I had been told that there were only a couple of die hard Porsche drivers who would come in after me and that they always took them back out very early.

2-3 weeks ago I call the manager to make arrangements to get my car out of storage and I find out that they have put a custom truck in behind me and can't find the contact details for it's owner. I keep calling every Friday to see if I can get the car out and I keep getting told they will call me as soon as they can get the truck moved. This facility doesn't have any keys as we all lock our vehicles and pocket the keys until the spring. They claim they are trying to track the owner through the police but haven't heard back from either the police or the owner.

Today the temps went up to 18 and there wasn't a cloud in the sky and still no news on getting my car out. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

The season here is short and I'm losing my sense of humour but what can I do...

Will that not do it?

Seriously, that's terrible mate! I'd be fuming!

Tell them the Senator wants his car so GET IT OUT!....NOW.

Call a tow truck and Get it out.....

this is really bad, i would be jumping up and down

it doesn't seem very professional if they can loose somebodies details

Without any damage to the cusom truck it can be jacked up and dropped onto wheel dollies to move it around. They can hire or buy some do do the job.

Ridiculous to not hold duplicate keys on site or be able to otherwise free up cars.

(Just google Wheel dollies if you don't know what they are)

Don't use that storage facility in future. I rented a parking spot in a high rise that wasn't being used ( a couple of years back) and it was fine, the high rise was very exclusive with cameras , 24 hr security etc...

Thanks for all the moral support.

I won't be storing at this place next year. Last year I was delayed a few weeks getting it out because the manager had a heart attack so I didn't mind waiting as health issues always come first but I have a much lower tolerance for ineptitude and problems both years at the same place it's officially time to move on.

I'm looking into 4 post lifts so I can stack 2 cars in 1 spot in my garage over the winter and failing that I'm going to make the rounds of high rise condos to see what I can find. I used to store in the garage of my sisters condo but they sold it and I lost my spot.

Being reasonable hasn't worked so far so on Tuesday I'm going to take an ugly pill and see where that gets me.

:roundel:

Well there is now joy in Ottawa. They finally moved the damned truck and I got my z out at lunch today.

Of course that doesn't make up for the warm sunny weekend I didn't get to drive it and now the forecast is calling for it to be cold and piss with rain most of the week.

Hopefully i can get my new tires on tomorrow and then get busy burning off the old tank of gas.
