Hi All,

My son has jetted off to New Zealand and left me his 2003 3.0i SMG to sell !

BMW Z4 Roadster 3.0i SMG, 2003 '03'

110,000 with full service history, 9 stamps in the service book and lots of receipts

He bought the car off an ‘elderly’ good friend of mine and he had owned it since 2011 so we know the car well.

Super Hi Spec car, see the full build details further down.

  • M-Sport suspension
Electric heated seats with driver memory
    Navigation system professional
    TV
    Mobile Phone prep with Bluetooth
    Hi-Fi system professional DSP
    Park Distance Control
    Driving Dynamic Control
    Xenon auto headlights
    108 type alloy wheels
    Cruise control
    Rain sensor

Two remote keys
Complete handbook set with leather wallet
Tool pouch
Original, unused first aid kit
Wind deflector

Over the last few months he has;

  • Reconditioned the roof motor and neatly relocated it into the boot so the roof works perfectly
Oil change on the SMG gearbox
Fitted new Eibach Pro springs all around
Fitted new front Sachs top mounts
Fitted new front A-frame suspension bushes
    New Brembo brake pads
Two new tyres fitted recently and it has a matching set of run flat Bridgestones all round

This is a well looked after car with a super smooth engine and it drives really well. The interior is in good condition with no tears or rips in the leather.

Whilst the bodywork is nice and straight and corrosion free, being a London car most of it's life it has a few scratches on both bumpers.

The wheels are ok but as usual with split rims they could really do with a refurb

The climate control works fine but doesn’t seem to get very cold

The passenger door mirror folds up but needs a hand to fold it back down

I’m asking £3,300 which takes into account the issues mentioned above.

I'm in St Albans. Call 07970-655206

Hi All,

Any interest before I advertise it on Pistonheads?

I think I have priced it about right? It's a really nice car so it will be a great buy for someone!

I've just noticed that the valve cover is leaking slightly causing a bit of smoking on the exhaust manifold. After a bit of research it seems to be a common problem on the straight 6 so I'll get that sorted with a new gasket and seals before selling.

Cheers

Hi

Has the SMG had any work done in the past?

Any invoices etc?

What tyres are fitted and how much tread do they have?

Thanks

Might be worth clarifying the suspension work, usually Eibach do springs and Bilstein do shock absorbers... it certainly Eibach that do the ‘Pro’ springs. The Bilstein Pro B12 kit is Eibach Springs and Bilstein shocks.

If it’s had both new shocks and springs with new top mounts then this is a very positive selling point, if it’s just had springs then less so with 110k on the old shocks.

Just realised, I'd put Bilstein, the springs were the Eibach pro kit

The shocks weren't changed as they all seemed fine and the car handles well.

I have a whole bunch of service receipts from 2010 on and ones for the things my son has done.

The tyres are Bridestone Potenzas, 2 are nearly new, the other two have 4 or 5 mm of tread I reckon.

It's never needed any work on the SMG box. We changed the oil just because we'd read it was a good idea to do it.

You are welcome to come and have a look.
