Road worthiness test

I've just had my car MoT'd as usual but I have noticed that the service indicator is red when I switch on the ignition. This traces to a symbol I hadn't noticed called "road worthiness" test! I assume the car it telling me it's time for an MoT - any idea how to update it? Does the garage which did the MoT have to update the computer or can it be done manually by me - the manual isn't very helpful on this point.

Cheers

It can be reset through the stalk as well.
I have done it the past few years.
It must be in the manual or extremely easy as I cant remember having any difficulty doing it.

for cars without iDrive and even those with it looking to reset oil services etc have the ignition on, you do not need the car running press and HOLD the trip reset button for a few seconds (about seven seconds). The center display will change to a yellow warning triangle and then the service due will be displayed. IF you hold the trip reset button too long… you will go into the BC hidden menu. At anytime of you wish to escape, just turn the ignition fully off Then you can retry again.

Use the toggle on the left hand (indicator) stalk to move through the service indicatiors, when you find the one you want press the BC button on the stalk (button on the end) and then use the toggle to change the month, BC button again and change the year and then BC button to confirm and that should be you

It's not in the manual as BMW charge customers £19 plus vat to reset service lights  BMW never tell you how to service things, they expect you to take it back to them for that.
