Road Trip

Just back from my trip to Denmark, did 900 miles today in one go, 13 hours driving, with 2 petrol stops. I think having a good nights sleep last night before setting off at 8am this morning helped, with a good breakfast too!!

The car performed beautifully.....no hic ups along the way, and did me proud.

Weirdest thing was, didn't see many nice cars in France, Brussels, Belgium, Holland, Germany or Denmark.....only two Panameras, an old V8 Vantage a la Prince Charles type, and of oh yes, 2 PT Cruiser Convertibles!!!! :headbang:

The navigation was fine, up until Antwerp on the way back, it just sent me thru the town centre, right during rush hour, and that added an hour to my trip!!! Average fuel consumption was 26.1 mpg, not sure what views are on that, but some of you who know me, know I like to put my foot down. I had about a third of the trip at 140 plus....in stops and starts.....

I do think the Europeans are much worse than us at pulling out onto another lane without looking too much....

And the radio was crap in every country!! Germans love their rock music, especially Nickelback...but thankfully no signs of David Hasslehoff on the airwaves!!!

Would I do the trip again? NO!!

Am I glad I did it? YES!!

Only pic of the hotel and my cousins!! The countries I went thru are all boring and flat!!

Danish women are nice though :D

I've just done a Europe trip and must say that the Germans seem to drive properly - They generally dont barge onto the autobahn from the slip road and when in the outside lane were very much aware that traffic were approaching at speed!

I would say the Germans are very disciplined drivers.

Compare that sort of behavior with a trip down the A1M!

They do pull out more often I thought when you're in the fast lane....had to break a good few times though ...but they pull in very quickly....
